Mr Ram Moorthy, Consultant ENT Surgeon, currently works at Wexham Park Hospital, part if Frmley Health NHSFT. he sees patints privately at Princess Margaret Hospital, Windsor, Spire Thames Valley Hospital and the Bridge Clinic, Maidenhead.
Mr Moorthy has a subspcialty interest in Thyroid and Parathyroid surgery and undertook the UK first scarless Thyroid and Parathyroid surgery (Transoral Endoscopic Thyroid/Parathyroid Vestibular Approach). He also undertakes a fukll range of benign head and neck surgery as well as a general adult and paediatric ENT practice.
Mr Moorthy began his medical education at Guy’s and St Thomas’, where he graduated in Clinical Anatomy, he then progressed on to specialist ENT, oral and maxillofacial surgery training, he also undertook training in neurosurgery at Charing Cross Hospital. Mr Moorthy was also able to gain experience in treating children when working at Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Evelina Children’s Hospital. During his training period, he undertook a fellowship at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in head and neck surgical oncology.
Mr Moorthy also contributes to medical education by training fellow ENT surgeons at Wexham Park. He is a member of the SAC, which supports and quality assures the standard of ENT training in the UK and Republic of Ireland. He has previously held the position of ENT Training Programme Director for Thames Valley and previous chair of the National Association of Programme Directors in ENT. Previously, he has also been a clinical tutor for Wexham Park and is ex-Director of the local Foundation Training Programme and the Foundation School at Oxford Foundation School. He has also held the academic positions of honorary clinical lecturer at the University of Birmingham and MSc supervisor at the University of Edinburgh. His commitment to academia has resulted in him writing several chapters for high profile ENT textbooks.
Mr Moorthy holds many positions within the British Medical Association like Chairman for the UK Junior Doctors Committee and the Board of Science. Currently, he is also a member of the ENT UK Council and the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons. He has also been appointed Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of ENgland and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
